BP Surfboards specializes in handcrafted custom shapes.  We use the highest quality materials, but work hard to keep our costs down to pass on low prices to the public.  This low price may deter some customers, but over 1600 surfers in over 10 years have experienced the Handcrafted quality that BP Surfboards brings to the Surfing community worldwide.   As a small company, we pride ourselves on the one-on-one attention we provide to our customers.  We DO NOT mass produce boards by contracting out our glassing or sanding, making our attention to detail and ability to customize unmatched.  Larger companies are excellent providers of consistent surfboard products, as long as you are willing to take a the chance of spending your money on a board that may not be right for you.  However, when you purchase a board from us, you will receive a high quality board that is designed to enhance your personal surfing performance.   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact BP himself to receive the attention you deserve.

Owner/Shaper/Glasser   My name is Bobby Phillips and I am the owner of BP Surfboards. I have been shaping surfboards since 1995, back when a couple of friends and I started a small business making surfboards and selling logo T-shirts. I moved to Sarasota, FL in 1996, made shaping a full time job in 1998, and shaped for the local shops on the Gulf coast, such as Underground Surfshop, Village Surf Shop, and Above the Wake.   In 2002-2004 I moved to the East/Central Florida Area And worked at Sea Ray laminating the 55ft deck, which included laminating, grinding, and bulking. Try to imagine grinding a 55ft deck in 100 degree weather wearing a full suit and mask, it sucked. However, luckily I was able to expand my knowledge of fiberglass and carry it over into surfboards.   Now, After over 10 years of hard work in the industry, I am proud to say my shaping and Glassing is top notch quality, and I pride myself on keeping up with the latest techniques and materials to advance the craft.  Although most shapers wish to expand their business into the mainstream by building a factory, buying shaping machines, and hiring workers, I have choosen to keep my own label - Bobby Phillips "BP" Surfboards- for the past 10 years, and will continue to bring custom shapes to the surfing community.
